Goals for 2019

Hey folks

Just thought I’d put up a bit of a thread about what you’re planning for 2019/projects/trips/etc?

I’ve got a few goals/plans/trips

- get serious about bream
- cod over a metre
- continue with fly casting lessons
- finish my pixilla project
- master trout on dry flies
- metre kingy on #9wt fly outfit
- find the ultimate single malt scotch whiskey

What are yours?

-Head to Copeton again this winter to try crack a meter cod. Went last year and managed a single 98cm fish for over a weeks effort.

-Not buy any lures and just use the ones from my already massively underused selection...

Whats your pixilla project involve nagz?

The pixilla project is something I first saw on tackle tour

Blokes will take one of the original models of daiwa pixy and modify it: shallow spool, bearing assisted worm drive replacement, custom level wind, handle and knobs, BFS bearings, shallow spool, drag start replacement, drag system overhaul including carbon washer and extra metal washers/carbon, handle nut set replacement and custom body screws and a tear down, polish and relube of specific internals.

So far I’ve done all but the custom body screws, bearing and drag star.

Looking to knock this off this year and get amongst some skinny water bass

Nicee I thought it might of been an 04 pixy. That'll be a little lure pingin rocket when your done. What rod you going to match with? I purchased a Calcutta 50 with the intent of doing similar (bfs bearing upgrade) but after using it I decided it wasn't necessary for the lures I throw so just prettied her up with new handle/knobs.Attachment 114407

that sucks mate. What model Loomis? Yeah only use Gumtree for cash on pickup. Have learnt that myself although luckily it wasnt costly.
