Even my 3 piece traveller Transcendent flows nicely. I think the old days of hard chrome ferrules which caused the flat spots stigma are well and truely gone - rod technology is pretty good these days with blanks.

Ford v Holden.
Shimano v Daiwa.
One piece v Two piece...
Are betterer argument
Sorry Slaz - I had to do it again with a poll - so far 1 and 2 piece are sharing the lead

Just went out and had a look at my 30 odd fishing rods that the wife and i share. To my surprise only found 3x1 piece rods then 4x3 piece rods and 2x4 piece rods the rest 2 piece.
I have voted in the poll as a 2 piece man but the variety did surprise me a little. As said before the days of flat spots seem to be well and truly over and if there are any flat spots or degridation of performance it is not noticable to either of us here.

Just did a count.

15 smaller style bream & heavier / travel multi 3 piece & baitcast rods

4 longer surf / live bait rods

10 single piece shorter bream and the like rods (6 of these i want to sell)

3 heavier single piece live bait rods.

Only choose a 2 piece rod if the length is over 7ft usually, i hate joins in rods but sometimes it is unavoidable. I have a couple of rods that join at the front grip, i like that better than the join being further up the blank.

one piece rods are my choice unless they don't fit in the car then i go the 2 pce for convienience. Two piece rods imo lack something when compared to the 1 pce in the same blank,i only have 1 exception to this rule and that is the C12 which felt better but alas i don't like micro guides on a casting rod.
cheers nereus

I have 1,2,3,4 piece rods as I do a lot of different types of fishing.

I don't really have a preference although in Bream fishing I have broken more 1 piece rods whilst fishing any others.
