Lamenting About Out-of-Production Gear

Don't you just hate it when favourite gear is taken out of production?

For instance, I have a Skyroad 762M rod for use as a flats rod but took it out on a pinky session yesterday evening. The Skyroad (and Volkey) line up was reasonably extensive, well made, great value and carried cork as my preferred grip material for finesse rods. So, like on numerous occasions before, I had to ask my myself, 'What the heck were Major Craft thinking when they decided to remove Skyroads and Volkeys from production?'

Gear I lament is no longer in production (or available) include:

1. Skyroad and Volkey rods
2. Graphite USA / Hastings blanks
3. Loomis blanks
4. Pacific Composite blanks
5. Too many early model reels to mention

So what gear does anyone else lament is no longer in production?

Cheers

You can get loomis blanks from nfc nowadays! They even tell you which blank they’re reproducing on the website.

I think it’s a shame that Shimano doesn’t make the 2008 and 2010 Stella’s and 2012 vanquish anymore - theyve been replaced by inferior reels

Took me ages too find a cheap strong jighead with the right diameter hook for air lifting 2kg pinks onto a pier. Thin enough for good hook penetration - strong enough to get the job done and a thin enough lead keeper to use 6 inch worms with out them splitting

There was extensive testing with scales and on the water rust tests. When I was finally happy and found the right one - the ebay seller vanished and I couldnt get them anymore.

So I knew they must exist somewhere and started a world wide search of all the cheap tackle locations. No joy from the Chinese wholesalers - no joy on amazon. No joy anywhere - They are gone

Gee they seemed to come and go pretty quickly. Struggling to remember if I actually saw them in a store.
