Bush camping in Gippsland

A few mates and I are heading away for a weekend of fishing and camping, we are looking for a place where we can do a bit of rough camping, campfire etc and fishing from the boats.

Don't wanna drive too much past Lake Tyers if avoidable but if it's worth it I will.

Anyone know any spots that fit the bill?

not sure if they are official campsites along McLennan straights just past seacombe boat ramp, however Ive seen a few campers there over the years. best to launch at seacombe & head toward loch sport. there are a few places to pull up and camp. not sure on the fire/camping process for that area.

try here

or on the northern side try blond bay state park. same as above in regard to camping/fires etc

or on the bunga arm - campsites - fires etc. book them through the parks vic website.

Emo there a few good spots especially if your happy to load the boat up with camping gear .
The entrance at bemm has a couple of sweet spots
Tamboon has the main camps at boat ramp you have to pay for but there's quite a few rippers you need to access by boat
The slips at Marlo
I have seen heaps of people camping near the glasshouse / powerlines at Tyers but not sure if it's private property or not .
check out a site called u camp property owners use it to advertise camping on their land .
Hope this helps cheers wheels

The Corringle Slips at Marlo aren't far past Lake Tyers and would be worth it. Camp next to your car and if its windy you can fish in front of the slips only 300m from camp where it's sheltered. And, you and your mates can even cross the estuary for a counter tea. You have to book the site on the Parks Victoria website.
Don't go to Tamboon, it's too far and too much trouble crossing the lake. If you do, say g'day to the guy in the Hornet
