Thanks guys. Certainly a few $$$ hanging off the back there now. Perfect set-up for me though. Mainly fishing shallow the twin poles are just amazing. The G2 added 10-12kph instantly to. I'm pushing 100 now fully loaded.

After 13 years in the little Hornet Trophy which I enjoyed immensely, I recently imported a Skeeter Fish/Ski boat from the States.
I needed more of an all rounder for the family and this boat ticks a few boxes such as fishing, towing the kids on tubes/wakeboards and fitting the whole family in.
I'm sick of looking at it this thing in the garage and not being allowed to use it yet, cmon Dan... if you extend the travel allowance to 6 km I can legally launch it and fish my local.

I like these kinda fish/ski bass boats. Bit more comfortable with the windscreen etc... but still bass boat like with the storage and front deck. Nice boat mate!

Just making sure you are using the 5km radius - as opposed to how long it is to get there by roads

Thanks Loz.
The Nong 'ramp' was ripped down by the council after a lovely old fellow user decided it's a good idea to re build it and make it look like a real ramp....
Now we've been waiting 2 years for the real ramp to get built and still no sign yet

Cheers Chief, We don't really have a locally made boat that ticks the same boxes down here do we?
Most fish Ski's are deeper V, bowrider and open space at the stern. The US ones like this have better casting decks, higher power outboards, and live wells etc.

It's Not as fish-able as a Bass boat but a pretty good compromise, just wish it had the ability to store rods better than it does.

Yeah don't worry I explored all avenues, even as the crow flies I'm about 1km short of the warmies.
If I want to push my luck I could launch at the warmies as I have a workers permit with a Port Melbourne address and recreation within 5km of work is also allowed but I don't think I'll risk it, not yet anyway

Not really there's always some compromise with boats. Unless you go to the really long version of that type of rig rod storage is always a issue. Ranger make a decent one but it's a bit deeper V than yours. The best thing about these is its a easier sell to the minister of finances (the missus) being quite family friendly to fish/ski out of compared to a full on bass or bay boat!

Yeah I looked at Ranger Reatas and some other brands, some of the multi species hulls are great as they suit some light offshore fishing as well as Bream/Cod etc.
As my two kids are now 10/12 the Skiing/tubing thing appeals to us.

EMO, why not talk us through that exercise?
I'm sure it'd make good reading.
How'd ya find it?
What research ya did?
How'd ya get it checked out and shipped?
Was it what you expected when it arrived?
Ya get the drift.

Yeah the council can turn a blind eye to a rarely used skid mark on the side of the river but a fully fledged ramp is not so easy To ignore

Yeah could be an expensive experiment.
