In fact, BFL if I can find them I will post to you for your in-depth comparison.

The only redeeming feature is the kindy-kids rounded nose to save save your pockets...
Were they bad cutters straight out of the box or did they go blunt quick? And do you remember the brand name?

P.s. thanks for the kind offer - but I'll be right with the blue berks

It's the Blue Berkley's for me too.

They got a mate out of trouble when his steering cable snapped on Native kayak. The Berks were able to cut the cable easily with the wire cutter bit and are still as good as new.

I just use the cutters on my pliers. They cut practically anything.

ive still got my Blue Berkley scissors that came in a lure pack that i bought when starting lure fishing.
its lasted a good 8 years or so and i bought it from BIG W.
its seen better days now, but still works.

the surecatch ones are also pretty good and i got a few from ebay for around $2 each and they are holding up well. bonus is the split ring plier option on them as well, but they will not work on bream lures as the point is too big.

Yeah I tend to retire mine when they stop cutting limp braid - so I get a year or 2 out of them

After receiving some goodies the report is in.
Scissors tested in order of best to worst:
1) Owner Scissors, slices with the most ease.
2) Berkley Blue
3) Surecatch Titanium - 2 & 3 Cut Limp Braid without using any aided shear action, just not as easy as the owners. The berkley wins Because of the rounded head and value.
4) Berkley Blue with split ring - cuts almost as well at the two above.
5) Dr Slick Forcep and Shears - These are now an old pair but still cut with some aided shear force with fingers.
6) Kershaw Kitchen Shears - Yeah Boooiiiiii, these cut braid with very little shear assistance.
7) Snowpeaks - These are new and are quite the disappointment as they require considerable shear assistance to cut limp braid.
8) Gerber Neat Freak. Similar to the Snowpeaks, don't waste your Money. Actually really disappointed with these as they will only cut with considerable shear force assistance, I thought the design was headed in the right direction but it fails fulfilling its raison detre.
9) Daiwa Yellow Handle. Don't cut well at all.
10) Berkley Black Handle with Split ring pliers.
11) Seat Belt Shears. The last two don't cut but they were not designed to cut braid.
12) Daiso With Hook remover.

After all that, just buy the Berkleys. The owners are Crazy sharp and a entirely differet feel. its like the sharpness slices through by itself where there's more resistance in the cut with the Berkleys and Surecatch.

Outstanding effort Alex - Much appreciated - What do you think went wrong with the Daiwa Scissors? Were they blunt? or the blades arent properly aligned? - too loose?

I just don't think the Daiwa was sharp enough on the cutting edges as I had to put considerable lateral force with my fingers to squeeze the cutting edges together and even so, not a clean cut everytime. Also when you have to impart these forces I reckon you wear what's left of the cutting edges quicker.

Also I omitted to say that I was Cutting 4 lb fins and 10 lb Power pro, and 15 lb j braid.

Bewdiful work Alex - In days gone by, if it said Daiwa on the side, you knew it meant quality.......
