to me they are definitely worth the dosh. They are the most sensitive, comfortable rod i have ever fished with. Gary has gone over and above once again. But the experts say it best as in this tackle tour article:
http://www.tackletour.com/reviewedgerods705pg3.html "If you're searching for "The One" and want the best possible tool you can have in your hands, it's difficult to argue that EdgeRod's MagBass 705-1 is not it." to me this says it all, not only about the mag bass but all of the EDGE range.

Is the tip section soft enough for light stuff? |

2-4kg is the lightest they go, no light 1-3kg offering unfortunately. The 2-4 is rated at 1/16th as the lightest it's designed to throw, this doesn't mean much though, rod manufacturers have a tendency to get this info wrong. My Steez storm shadow was rated at 2-5kgs and it was more than capable of throwing an unweighted plastic 15 meters.

I've had a feel of most of the range sweet rods at the very top of the price range but still sweet rods. As mentioned a lot of their range is too heavily rated for most bream fishing but there was definitely a few rods that would be right at home fishing for bream I cant remember all the models as I felt them a while back.

Hey RFF, thats good to hear. If its any then id assume it'll be the lightest of the spin rods that might suit. Going by what ive been told there should be two options, a fast and an extra-fast. So the fast 702-2 will be the one. Hopefully its exactly what im looking for. If not then my other option arrives in a couple of weeks.

I rigged a 3" the same wY just to see the difference and it was able to cast it further than the majority of my light hardbodies mate . The whole 1-2 ,1-3kg I've done it all before . I've headed back the other way and really enjoy a rod that has a lot more balls down deep yet nice and tippy enough to cast the light stuff a mile . Plus you won't find a lighter rod , well not that I've played with. Of course I'm not saying I've plYed with them all or know everything it's just my opinion I guess

Exactly my point Toby. Only way to know what a rod is capable of is by picking it up yourself or speaking with someone, such as yourself, who has used it. The specs provided often mean very little.
I still believe ultralight outfits have their place, but I agree with your comment about ballsy rods. Especially when your fishing snags or structure.
