Snap back and ZMan storage (tight-arsed version)
I love the lures but hate that I cant store them with the rest - I like to travel light with my 4 to 6 inch pre-rigged plastics - I can usually carry what I want in one pack for a session - so I have a love hate relationship with "snap backs"
I dont understand the science - but I'd love to be able to have a dedicated pouch for both - but I rarely buy either lure so I need to keep the rest in the package they came in. So what I'm asking for is a snaploc bag that can handle Z-mans and Snap-backs - Is what I'm looking for, available at coles safeway woolworths big w or kmart? Larry, I use the snaploc bags "Multix Green Degradable" from Coles for the zmans pre rigged.

Moncross makes those cheap tacky plastic feeling boxes. I bought a couple of TT'S Kris Hickson bream packs to get the boxes for nix.
I've gone through Plano, Versus and cheap boxes from ZMan lures... frigging hate them, but they work!!! Problem with pre rigging in boxes is that they want to bunch up heavy side first naturally, throwing in some foam and hooking the hooks into it helps keep things straight.

Before I re-discovered snap backs - I used to be able to jam everything into one snap lock bag and leave my fate to its contents I'd just slip it into my pocket and roam around - but now I need separate compartments - I'd prefer they be in snap-lock bags so I can still shove them in my pockets and travel light. Now that I use worm hooks - I've found I need far fewer plastics to last the session - |

Your turing into a weight weenie
You don't find the hooks poking through the the bag's? Another option could be getting some of those cheap pencil cases from DAISO ($2.80) or online for next to nothing, they're that clear vinyl every size and colour imaginable with a white nylon inside the vinyl plastic, very flat and very Japanese style. Glue a strip of self adhesive eva rubber strip in there from a foam and rubber store and stick your pre rigged jigs in there.

The plastic need to be flexible as I ride between spots with the lures in my pocket while running and gunning. And I knick the worm hook back into the plastic so I have stabbed myself yet I usually use a heavy duty bag that sebiles come it - but I wasnt sure if it would melt through that - so I thought I'd ask the question. I know I should just use a the bag the snapback came in but I dont have any spares in the right size at the moment. Maybe I'll just buy a few more of their biggest packet and use them - until that happens - a snap-lock bag from Coles sounds too easy Last edited by yellow door 1; 19-05-2017 at 09:24 PM. |

If they arent comfortable - I'm not going to use them - but if they aint durable I might end up stabbing myself - I'll work it out eventually |

The pièce de résistance would be going into emergency with a pink ZMAN dangling off your plucked dove. Always go for durability...

I don't carry em in my pocket, they sit comfortably in a Plano box in the top. You certainly don't want em sitting next to the jats crackers if they ferment and lodge a needle point into the side.
I usually make up a few & glue them to the jig head before a session. Normally I'd put them back in the original bag at the end of the day, must've been slack last time and left them in the ziplock bags. I keep the colours seperate. Last edited by Ratbags; 20-05-2017 at 07:31 AM. |
