Which battery for 80lb thrust Minn Kota?

I'm about to fit a 80lb thrust Minn Kota to my tub. this is a 24 volt system and I was wondering if anyone had an input on which are the best batteries to purchase as well as any other helpful hints.

Depends on your budget really, and i would suggest you shop around. If you want the best and weight isnt too much of a concern, then look around for absorbed gel glass mat. There is no better (even work underwater) but as i said they are expensive, and even though they are smaller than the equivalent trojan for example, they are about 30% heavier.

I'm a fan of the Full River batteries as well and I went through a few types and brands before I got to them. I actually read about them on a US Bass site where they were getting some good wraps and it was great to find them available in Aus and not a bad price for a AGM battery as well. I run a pair of 120 amp models but they are not light being about 40kg each.
