4.85 is perfect for me, with the swing away drawbar on my trailer and the motor vertical it fits in my garage without having to put it in sideways. I fish two or three blokes in comfort.

I would hate to loose 500mm of my internal space. That's a fair bit.

You only lose it in the rear corners The engine well still comes back into the boat the same distance.

the soft rider transom is pretty much a standard frenzy item... with the rear steps and steering (etc) passing out of the rear decks storage area....if rear access is the go you could also have a transom door and boarding ladder on the port side...just another option.
The normal transom is the same as the mako truck/dory. it has the large spashwell for the engine to sit in.. and if wanted two small seating areas one each side of the spashwell... look at the mako dory runabout to see this style of transom with seating...
essentially the engine is mounted in the same position just the transom height is different...the engine height is the same.. just the top section is solid for the normal transom and cut away for the soft rider, which is later built up with the steps, hatches etc.

as for the loss of space the frenzy in any size has a very big beam and the small loss for the soft rider will not be noticed, that is compared to a big splashwell intruding into the space at the back of the boat....

choices, choices there is just so much you can do with these boats....
Good luck deciding......

Cheers

Thanks for any advice one could give. The other option which one has to consider is the standard 1.2 depth or the 1.3 depth.
What are the Pros and Cons to this option.

I have the higher sides little better when bracing yourself against it while offshore, not a lot of difference only 10cm.
