Yes unfortunately the landscape has changed with the introduction of the "Gerry Harvey tax". Basically we have gone back 10 years to paying inflated prices and getting ripped off again.
I still get a few lures off eBay but hate it everytime I get the charge for GST. I won't touch Amazon as found their local prices aren't competitive. Good news a recent purchase from Digitaka came thru without any extra fees.

When you purchased through Digitaka (or any other overseas site) did you get hit with any customs or duty tax?

I have not done that before and would be worried that I will get slugged unexpected costs on delivery.

No extra charge from Digitaka and delivered without any local fees or charges. I did read they were going to introduce a flat fee of $5 on anything arriving which you couldn't prove GST had been paid. Possibly too hard to police and anything like a small box must go under the radar. I did look at another reel purchase from Digitaka on the weekend but the touchup from PayPal on the currency conversion added nearly $50 to the purchase so i canned that idea. ( I admit the reel I looked at was an exist so cheaper reels it would be less). Also in the news the Aussie dollar dropping so won't help either.
