Suzuki DF40A Tiller Steer outboards,

Hello Team,
I'm in the process of ordering a new boat, a Mako Craft 4.2m Estuary Tracker Tournament.

I can order it from basically 2 dealers around my area. One sells Tohatsu and the other sells Suzuki.

I had planned to get a 4 Stroke but Tohatsu don't do a 40 in 4 Stroke.

This leaves the Suzuki.

I'm after some information on them from people who have had experiemces with them good, bad or ugly.

Thanks,
Geoff

I've had 2 Suzuki's and know many more that have them.
I've never heard a bad or ugly story about them.....so that only leaves good stories.

A mate has a Tohatsu on his 5.5m that I haven't heard him whinge about.......but I'd go a Suzi over the Tohatsu any day due to the lean burn efficiency and quiet operation compared to the other option.

I own a DF40, only used it once but I was wrapped in how smooth & quite it is. Also super fuel efficient, spent the day fishing Keepit dam (and did a bit of running around just for fun being in a new boat) and used only 3 litres fuel Which is going to be a huge plus once I go to uni next year.
Up until then we'd been running a 50 etec and I think there's pretty much no comparison, Suzuki any day (my opinion, don't bite my head off e-tec folk)

So, you won't be disappointed.

Chris
