Interesting take on rigging plastics - cutting a slit and gluing

Yeah If I was throwing a $45 lure I'd be going weedless aswell

I like a weedless presentation for Jewies - Especially when bottom bouncing land based.

I use these Sebiles magic swimmers - they have the belly slit - 3 in a pack and pretty cheap at MOes

And what does your shrink think about this problem you have ?
You do realize you should at least have 5 times that amount

- Yeah having never used weedless presentations before, I was expecting to lose alot more to snags

But thanks to weedless - I can go a very long time without loss - instead of 3 or 4 jigheads a session.

Plus they were on sale and there was free postage after spending a certain amount

Yeah the less weight in the hook and weights - the more erratic the movement - its work taking them down to some clear water so you can see how adding and subtracting weights effects movement. Also worth checking out how pushing the weight up and down the shank of the hook effect the swimming action

Without hook they're around 18gr on their own

With hook and 2 weights -it takes it up to around 21 grams

I like the light presentation on slack tides and incoming tides in the river - the plastic already has enough weight on its own to bang it out where I want it to go.

I like them for imitating mid to top water mullet (between 1 and 2m from the surface) I'm trying to imitate the ones that fell off the back of the school as it pushes upstream on the tide.

But they are good at all levels of the water column
