Diawa Generation Black Rods

Anybody tried these. I'm considering the Itchy-Twitchy and the Drunkenmonkey as a reasonably priced rod for breaming. Any feedback would be useful, good or bad.
Cheers Dazz

had a look at these today in a store and they felt great for the money,
was stunned by the size of the tiny guides up top

Thanks guys, looks like I will add a couple to the stable
Mitch I have way too many flyrods now, a nice light spin rod for some popper action and softies when the winds blowing too hard will come in handy.
Cheers Dazz

would you really lol? if they were $300 they wouldn't be worth the money anymore...

they are great rods though and the micro guides are not an issue

Have the Drunken monkey and find it to be great for un-weighted plastics. The micro guides take a bit of getting used to tho, but are fine with leaders under 8 lb.

One of the better rods in this price range for sure.

I got a drunknmumky on the weekend and managed a few bream to 36cm and it handled them nicely. I have it matched with a 2500 stradic fl which felt ok, but could be better balanced.

I was using 6lb fireline (old and frayed) with 6lb vanish, with about 2 inch gulp worms on a light weight nitro jig head and I could cast around about 20-30m with it.

Now to decide what reel to buy for it? Probably a ci4 2500 or possibly a daiwa which would be my first daiwa small spinning reel.

I have the drunken monkey and am loving it
great to cast with, and it balances with almost all of my reels
and the amount of power it has surpsises me
it says 1-2kg but ive had over a kg of drag and it is fine
definatly wasnt any problem on a 4.3kg carp the other day
im after a new reel for it
looking at a 2004 daiwa, will put 6lb Super pE
either a caldia, luvias, or the new aegis when it omes out
do you think it would be worth spending more and getting a luvias?
what is the caldia like? smooth? nice drag?
and ive heard the luvias feels like an exist? and the drag also sounds like one?
Cheers

Have mine matched to a 2000 Ballistic running 4lb Exceed. Great balance and my goto combo at the moment.

Awesome rods for the price. I only wished they were running k guides, for that reason I would spend $30 and get a Team Diawa X. For that you get cork handles and k guides. I'm not sure if there the same blank or not.
