You should get an understanding of the range of fuji components.
There are Fuji guides that cost $1 each made of a softer ceramic and a frame material that is more prone to rust.
There are different ceramic ring types. First here are alconites with a slightly harder ceramic, then SIC which are amongst the hardest/smoothest ceramics available. Harder and smoother equals longer lasting/ better performance.

Then there are the frame material some aren't specified, some specify a stainless material or better a titanium coated frame or the best a full titanium frame lighter and totally rust free.

For a large titanium framed SIC fuji guide you can pay $70 on its own. And I haven't touched on the Gold cerment guides which are better again, apparently.

When it comes down to it the trions/raiders and dropshots are good rods. The Lox is a better rod. Better blank, better components.

If they are better for you depends on what you can do with the money saved on the difference in the price.

He didn't say LOX are better, he just said he loves the rod and asked for a feedback.

I have two of that model and love it for flats work. I also have a couple of the 6'6" one for docks work and kayaking stuff. You should not be disappointed as the rods perform exceptionally well. I will make a point that you can snap the tips off these rods relatively easily if you knock them against stuff. Just take care of the rods and you will be laughing.

Oh and One kay Gee, buy one and find out for yourself. Better than the old JW clear tip that's for sure.

Can i suggest you start testing some mid level to higher quality gear as I would love to hear your thoughts on some of the gear that I have bought.

Cheers fellas, cant wait to give it a proper workout, But from all accounts the quality is sky high for the price. I got it for $195.00 for the rod plus five packs of bulky hawgs. Cant beat that just gotta go back and get my tube :-)
once again cheers fellas will post pics when i catch something decent on it.

I have a trion and a LOX, no comparison between the two. The LOX is so much more sensitive it's not funny. Don't get me wrong, I like the trions, I have 3 in different weight classes but it's more a case of horses for courses.

You will like it mate but as BWJ said, be very very careful with the tip as it is extremely fragile.

BTW, what do think of the samurai 201 ?? I'm contemplating selling my LOX to get one of these.

Is the 7ft 1-3kg lox good for fishing around bridge pylons and snaggy areas or is it purely a sand flats type rod ?

Hey mate, love the Samurai 201, although its a completely different taper to the Lox, the samurai is a very fast taper i believe?, its very flicky in the tip perfect for working small plastics IMHO. But yeah folds away nicely and has a fair bit of power down low. hope that helps cheers stealth

Thumbs up

No complaints here

I use a Daiwa Sol 2000 reel on mine and I just treat both my 7' Lox + Daiwa Sol reel with TLC."It should serve you better than well"

Gae.

Have the 7'6" model lovely blank. A little tip heavy which most 7'6" rods are and at under $200 good to have in the arsenal.

I've got 3 x 7'6 yoshis and love them. Haven't broken the tip on any of mine and have caught 45cm tailor, 40+cm trevs, 35cm+ jacks, 38cm bream.... and they've been handled with no dramas and no concern for snapped tips.

The rod tube is a must and really does help with keeping the tip from snapping and being damaged. Also perfect for putting on planes for travel.
