I was browsing in the tackle shop at Marlo over Easter and I picked up a Slazenger rod. It was only $54 and it felt pretty good. It would be good to use with soft plastics and HBs on bream, etc. It was a little heavy, but apart from that, it was okay. It was similiar to a Berkley Dropshot, but cost less. They're made in China, of course, like most level entry rods.
They're worth a look. I thought about buying a couple for my children to use, but they've laid claim to my Pfleuger Trions anyway. Mick |

well theres been quite a bit of 2nd rate gear suggested
I recomend you see if you can track down a Steve Starling Stella Series ($80-90) and these rods for are bloody good, let alone for that price! Cork Handle, grafite blank i have had one for 2 years, many bream although its no longer used often i love it and many agree its an amazing buy! Far better than the "slazenger" Good luck |

The bream that got me into the 40cm club was caught on a graphite Mojiko rod. One piece, cork grips, removable weights on the butt-cap. Performed well considering it cost me $20 on special. Should be able to get it for around $80 at normal price. It has since been broken but that was due to a car door
