Anywhere "money" and "skill" are involved you will have the monstrous human psychology come out to play to win the game...

How many other fishing comps here and abroad have been won like this?

Even a gentlemen's sport has been tainted. Hence my disappointment of the scene overall...

Yeah I was searching for a Mike Long video and I clicked on one - it was another Mike Long. A Champion of some Dungeons and Dragons type card game. Also a massive cheater.

I cant think of a single part of human life where you cant cheat.

Whether its squeezing Avocados at the super market to make sure you get the best one - Bribing Olympic Selection Committee's with prostitutes and millions of dollars - or using Gulps in a bream comp

Cheaters gonna cheat

I agree with Slazmo
In my younger days a mate and I used to fish rock beach and estuary comps in Sydney doing quite well for ourselves although never actually winning. Cheating was exposed on a huge scale by 2 guys that always seemed to win no matter what. Since that day I have never participated in an organised comp or joined a fishing club. My days of seeing who can catch the biggest fish or the most fish are well and truly over. In my opinion comps are a thing of the past, egoistical trips for many involved although there are many just pleased to participate. Fishing to me is about enjoying the day, catching a feed and teaching others an art learnt over 60 or more years.

Yeah I was thinking of way to cheat in bream comps - I imagine there have been a few schooled up bream accidentally jagged with blades that made it to the weigh in.

But I imagine thats at the tamer end of the "cheating" scale

The way the Americans hook their fish, I'm surprised full reconstructive surgery isn't a common thing on their bass...

Mind you after watching umpteen videos on LMB fishing - is it even a sport, they willingly jump on lures like Queenfish, GT and the like we see up north manically do.

Seems to be not much skill other than casting and retrieving imho.

The amount of work it takes for me to catch one bass out of my small stretch of local moisture is insane... And they take the piss saying its only a guppy in comparison...

Belated, Greetings and felicitations Mark

Yeah there's definitely vids that make them look easy - especially when they dont only hit when they're hungry.

When you have a fish that exhibits Territorial aggression and eats lures when its hungry. You've got a fish thats potentially catch-able at any time.

That makes for an easier target that most.

It seems the bigger the mouth in relation to the fish - the more chance they will be willing to use it.

Because when you have a bucket for a mouth - everything becomes prey. And if you are King D!ck in a pond - you wont be afraid to use it.

Large Mouth Bass are a good metaphor for the way U.S.A acts globally
