I use either a daiwa commander "electric strawberry" or a samurai 203. I prefer the commander. It is a little stiffer and casts more accurately though the dunk and spikes are getting close to its upper casting weight.

I use either a Loomis DSR820S or a Duffrod X Series 8422. If I have to choose then its the Duffrod. Good luck with your choice. Regards HBt.

How do you go working the Lures on a Regular actioned blank like the strawberry. or do you just slow roll?
Ive only recent bought one second hand, havent used it on hards yet, but was fine on the plastics just as a trial..
Does it cast the dunks a good distance?

For the OP - i have used a Commander avenger 6101LFS the older cork model with Both the lures in question and it worked them well.

cheers

Mainly slow rolling but also pausing and little twitches. It feels like a regular blank when casing but loads up with quite a parabolic action. Its not my first choice for top water but it does work small (duo poco poco) poppers pretty well too. No trouble with casting distance using pe0.6 line and an fg knot. Super sensitive rod when the lure is being slow rolled along the bottom. Definitely worth tryiong with hards.
