Not quite answering your question re the 7'4" but I've been using a 6'4" Shoreluck for a couple of months now and have been really pleasantly surprised by this rod. Firstly, because the reel mount is so low this rod fishes much longer (if that makes sense). So much so that, although I originally got it as a yak rod it's currently my weapon of choice for the flats. Some might scoff at that but matched to a 1000 Stella it's an awesome and easy combination. Certainly not slow in the upper section but, as Chief said, loads up solidly in the lower section when required. I have only fished HBs with this and it handles anything from MXs up to the bigger shallow minnows to 7g no worries - which makes it really versatile. (I would say that cranks tend to overload the action a bit though). So far it has landed many fish in shallow water up to solid 38s with no trouble at all. Outstanding for such a light tip rod - also it handles far more high sticking than a rod this light in the tip should - (thanks to testing it out with plenty of unwanted piscatorial interest from my staffy girls).
Sadly for my wife, family and bank manager I am now a MB convert and have a couple more on the way - Cheers P.

I was talking about the Caiyen in particular. Stella Fella rates his LIN pretty highly. I've never felt one before. Most people think the 256 Luvito isn't the best, I'd say it wasn't as good as the Caiyen. I've felt the 1003 Luvito and that was pretty nice.

I'd be sticking to the Caiyen or LIN personally.
I've got a 256 Luvito and it is a nice smooth reel but really, apart from the spool and handle and the megabass badging i don't think it justifies the price that it sells for. To me it doesn't really feel any better than the reel it is built from, the luvias, about the same i would say.

Still a nice reel and not complaining for the price i paid though.

Not that i can afford one, Buts its always nice to dream.

What would you recomend for plastics only.
I like something extra fast and crisp.
I only really chase the big ones so after something i can put alot of hurt on the fish in tight structure

The Phase 3 Lycaon 6'4'' might suit. Mine is still on it's way. Will let you know how it goes. A F2 or F3 Racing Condition would most likey suit that to.

Even though it's a MB thread. A 6'4'' Harrier would be perfect for you.... Might fit the budget as well.

Thanks Chief. Anyone had issues with the JPF site in terms of selecting this particular rod. When I hit the drop down box to select, it flicks to another screen, with no options to select?
