Have dealt with Digitaka before, and no there are no issues with purchases.

However, trying to contact them via their site to query stock on items and no answer. Anyone got any ideas? Just go ahead with purchase or keep trying? Its for the certate 2500s where they list "few qty ask in advance"

no worries there, the Japanese Govt are working to devalue the JPY to take on China in the manufacturing stakes, be great if they do - cheaper products & better quality.

The fee will even occur when you use Pay pal or even a credit card. It's to do with how merchants and currency providers make their money. Basicly it's a comission fee. Usually around 3% i've found. Have a look at the conversion in your Pay pal account and then compare it to the current spot rate. I've found that it is about 3c difference being in favour of Pay pal.

I've tried emailing them for the last few weeks about placing an order and still no response. Ended up finding the same reel on here 2nd hand for a good price so just bought that instead. Agree on the paypal thing, they basically add 5% to whatever you expect to pay to do a currency conversion so basically a rip-off that you have to factor in. As for buying from somewhere new that's always a risky business, you just have to way up the pros and cons before you hand over the hard earned $$$. As a comparison this mob are selling Caldia 2004's for around $200, here in Aus the 2000's are around $300 with a free spare spool worth $90 and full Australian Warranty and support. I like having a spare spool so I have an Australian model Caldia 2000, but if you're not after a spare spool then maybe worth giving this lot a go, your call.
