Another nice thing to do is to help the boater launch/retrieve the boat. Normally the ramp is busy on comp day and to get a little help just speeds up the launching process and gets all the boats on/off the water quicker.

I also agree with Aquaholic and Mim an offer for fuel money is really appreciated. I normally don’t accept it but it is still good gesture, and just keep an eye out to see where you can help the boater during the day and things will be fine.

I still talk about the day that Mitch brought out a smorgasbord of food for the day, chicken wings, chocolate, mixed nuts and drinks. I was too busy eating that the bugger out fished me, I think it was his plan all along

Cheers

So just to recap things, what we really need to bring except our fishing tackle is :

- a life jacket (cheap one is ok? how much is it?)
- food (preferably a lot to distract the boater? :P)
- sunnies
- a little petrol money :P
- ummm...anything else?

thx
