13 Rod users / owners

So am considering a couple of rods from the Concept 13 range.
Unfortunately, we don't have a seller here in Adelaide that I can go to for a look & feel.

I realise that the blanks are stiff, but how stiff?

Anyone care to compare them to something else they have used, say a gen Black Itchy Twitchy. Or even better a 2-4kg T-spec
The rods I am interested in are;

Omen
OBSA71L 7'1" (217cm) Med-Fast 2-8lb
OBSA610L 6’10” (209cm) Fast 2-8lb

ENVY
EBSA610L- FG 6'10" fast 2-8lb
EBSA71LM- FG 7'1" medium 2-8lb

I am also wondering if these might be a little too tippy, warranting going up a spec to the 4-10lb models.

Also wanted to confirm that there are no microguides.

I've used all the rods you have listed and I would go straight to the Envy Black series; they are a much nicer rod in all aspects. I found them to be lightweight, sensitive and perfectly suited to bream fishing. I believe Tom designed these especially for targeting bream on cranks and SP's. He is on here sometimes so hopefully he can chime in.

In terms of 'stiff-ness', the 6'10" was a little stiffer due to it being a fast taper (whereas 7'1" was medium), I personally thought both didn't feel too whippy. I had a 4-10lb Omen Black and I thought it was a little too stiff for bream fishing...

If you are chasing bream, both listed Envy Black rods are perfect, I never had any issues with them and caught many fish including some good sized Jacks - all handled with ease.

Hope that helps
(p.s. I have no affiliation with 13, so no bias just my honest opinion)

Oh and I will add that 13 have excellent customer service, so you're safe if anything is to go wrong

Hey guys.

Anything with an 'L' designation is one i designed specifically for bream fishing.

In the OMEN Blacks there is the 610L and 71L
In the ENVY Blacks there is a 610L and 71LM (the M stands for Moderate)

OMENs use a 30Ton graphite, ENVYs use a 40Ton.

I use the longer 71 models for any lures with treble hooks. So hardbodies, cranka crabs, blades and topwaters. I use the 610 models for fishing soft plastics.
The 610 models are slightly faster than the 71 variants.

Any specific questions let me know.

i use and own both of the envy rods ,you have mentioned, and a few others from the range.awesome bream rods imo. dont think you will be disappointed with a purchase. i personally love the full cork grip, models, extremely comfortable to use.
i live a few hours from Adelaide, myself.and these rods do well for all our local species, also accounted for a few metre mullys from the kayak,so they have the grunt when needed.
cheers,
hutch

These rods are designed in the US with models brought here to suit and seem quite excellent. Only thing that held me back is the lack of a 2 piece. I would get one if they were more transportable.

Same. If they were 2 piece I'd be an owner by now .... I'm still tempted though lol
