Yeah I was thinking more for airline travel - I dont know whether I'd trust one out in the open for extended periods either

Extremely happy with this heavy duty lockable case on sale at super cheap! $45....bling now travelling safely on those bigger trips away

I got two of the largest Toolpro cases and if you remove the handles you can fit both spin and baitcaster reels into the case end on. I can get about ten to a dozen mixed spinners and overheads from 2000 to 4000 and ABU2500 to 7000C sizes in one case. The other has the spare spools and fly reels from 5wt to 11wt.

Those Geraldton baggage handlers are some of the roughest I've come across so I went with the store bought case on this occasion

Depending on the size of your bags - the 10 liter white bucket and towel can hold 2 x 6500 reels - 2 x 3000 reels and 2 x 2000 reels quite comfortably.
