okay cheers for that knobby,

If yours is rated to 120HP then it must be way bigger than the one I'm after, A 500 or 530 maybe?

The max is the 4mm plate bottomsides which adds a little weight too... but gives some great benefits also.

That makes me feel a little better about the potential top speed of my little 485 when it rocks up...

Cheers All...

So what did you ending up getting out of your boat? I'm looking at a 485 max frenzy with a 90ETEC I'd like 70k's plus too - I hate going slow.......

Not quiet on water yet, not too far away though

ended up going for a whole heap of extras, spent a truck load, but it will be one of the best alrounders you'll see, I'll post pics when I get a chance...

Hey guys I will post some pictures soon,

at the moment the boat is running great, I have had it out fishing in some pretty big offshore conditions. I have taken it 28kms out in the gulf, landed 9kg+ snapper on plastic.

plus it fishes bream really well.

Still in the process of fine tuning all aspects of it, from mounting various must haves to getting engine prop and set=up right.

running at 63km/h at the moment, but only revving to 5200rpm.

its got a 17p SST prop, which I told was standard, I want to try and find a more aggressive top end prop. It flies out of the hole (which is what the SST is supposed to do)...

Great little rig.....

frenzy

pulling more revs now after lifting the motor, I think 5850 from memory, the 90 Etec should max at around 5500 so the next pitch prop in a more aggressive shape should see me increase a few kmph. I would like to ideally run 70's all day long....

pics coming... its still bare (white) on the outside as I haven't decided on the graphics/wrap, but inside is all business....

Upgraded from a 17pitch SST stainless evinrude prop to an Evinrude Viper 19pitch stainless prop...

Hardly dropped any revs and only picked up 0.5-1 knot extra speed...

Not sure If i want to install a jacking plate to the motor to lift it any more, as this should increase flat water performance but may well limit the performance in swell...

spewin: 64.82 kmh at the moment

Sounds to me like your prop is slipping. A 2in prop change should drop your revs close to 500rpm.

It does seem like you are suffering a lot of slip. I had a 90 Etec on the 5.5m Full Boar I used to have and the best it ever did was 37 knots which works out to 68.5kph. This was using a 17 pitch Solas four blade. I wouldn't have thought you would need to go to a 21. Just my 2c though.
A hydraulic jack plate will give you the best of both worlds. Raise it up for flat water performance and lower it for rougher water so you don't suffer too much cavitation.

Cheers, Dror
