Trailer skids

Hi all
Has anyone replaced the skids on their trailer?
Wondering what type of timber to use.
Cheers
Paul

Paul,

Does it need to be timber, or is nylon / teflon an option?

I used cypress pine/ murray river pine (also known) as it tends not to move in weather as much.

Here in Victoria its used in fencing also.

Woronora, the Teflon type aren't good for the gel coat from what I've been told.

Thanks bj, I'll have a look for some of that.

If your carpeting it Paul, it probably wont matter so long as its a fairly strong wood and you seal it up well. Or maybe look into some nylon block material then carpeting it- may last longer than timber when exposed to water.

Regular structural pine from Bunnings will be fine. The best stuff would be the orange form work timber if you know any form workers
