Chicken's not a bad alternative bait if you can't get live bait...I've caught a few decent Bream using it.
I usually fish it raw soaked it in Tuna oil.

I always thought pad tues smell a bit like fake terriyaki chicken flavour. Maybe that's why the bream love them. If ecogear would just make an authentic cooked chicken colour it would be easy to match the hatch

I delivered to a "smelly prawn-kill a heap of fish" joker the other day & he'd nailed 10 bream at my local on UNcooked chicken breast...
I'd rather have let them go & eaten the chook... not that I dont mind a feed of seafood...

Actually some of the Sydney Harbour and Botany Bay "meat fishermen" (no pun intended) have a lot of success with raw chicken breast. It works a treat if soaked in some tuna oil overnight, and cut into thin strips , especially if the water is a bit discoloured from rain. The only thing is if you're hard up for a feed you can't cook the leftover bait if it's been soaked in tuna oil ( I suppose you could if you were REALLY hard up for a feed). Someone mentioned Teryaki in one of the earlier posts hmmm.... maybe some teriyaki or satay marinade instead of the tuna oil he he he. You could even do some of the preparation for the night's meal whilst on the boat if the bream aren't biting - just bring along some bamboo skewers and away you go!
