Minn Kota side plates

OK fellow BMs, I was driving home yesterday when one of the plastic side plates came off my electric and is now road fodder. These had become brittle over the years and were held on with glue and tape I have managed to source some new ones from BLA and the thing I need to know is how to replace the side where the cord goes up to the head unit (the other sides a no brainer) .I've had it apart but don't see any connection plug that can be undone to get the old cover off and the new one on . Has anyone done this repair in the past ,if so I would love to know.

Strange that you don't have a connection plug?
Not sure how you would be able to remove it, might have to get a sparky mate in to disconnect the wires and then maybe re wire it back up again.

I had a quick search on the Minn Kota web site.
There is a schematic diagram on there for most models.
These are in the user guide for each model.
It looks like the curly cable has quick connections at both ends of the cable that may be able to be disconnected.
But they may be encapsulated in resin as part of the waterproofing process of the electronics from the factory.
Sorry I have only pulled an older model apart not the one you have.

Mate how much were the replacements?

I took mine completely off not long ago, pretty sure I had to slice shrink tube and remove each quick connection from the board. If its an older SP unit it wont be encased in resin, just make sure shrink tube is appropriate size before plugging back in.

They were only around 30 bucks each. Haven't received them yet so hoping they're the right ones. I've had another quick look and they are shrink wrapped but the 2 main black and red ones might be a different story Cheers for the replies and diagrams fellas.

Saved by Import tackle . I was looking at tails instead of heads I couldn't believe it today when the phone rang
BceeF: Your special order has arrived.
Me: Huh but I only ordered it yesterday.
Turns out BLA must have had some in their Bibra Lake warehouse . Anyway job done and relatively painless
I seriously thought I was going to have to order them from the US so I am one happy camper
Thanks once again.
