60HP? What one?

Okay guys.
New question!

If you had to pick a 60hp outboard. What would you pick and why?

And is something like a Honda really worth the extra $1500 odd dollars?

I would seriously be looking at the Yamaha F70 if you can. It is one nice engine.

I've only had a 60hp Mercury 4stroke, can't fault it so far. Quiet, quick, vibration free, smokeless and lacks the stinkyness of the 2stroke I used to have.

Have also fished out of a boat with a 60 yamaha, wasn't a bad motor either.

Go with either a 4 stroke yammy or suzuki. I have mates with these motors and are absolutely awesome motors. Cant comment on the merc as i havent been in a boat with one but have heard good things about them also.

I actually have the 60hp yammy four stroke, it's the best engine we have ever had.

Quiet, smooth, it's so good on fuel, everything you want in an outboard

Had a 50hp Mercury EFI 4 stroke on a Savage Jabiru 475 didn't have it long but it was a good motor, very quiet and good on fuel, but personally i'd be looking towards yamaha, due to the amount of use they get on commercial boats, but i think performance wise you will be happy with almost any 4stroke,the fuel economy and lack of noise just cant be beaten, not sure about these new 2strokes like the Etec, atleast with the 4stroke you are not relying on oil being injected into the fuel for lubrication, sure the 4stroke is a more complex motor with more moving parts, but atleast you only have to worry about fuel, not buying oil too all the time.
