Does anyone like glow in the dark lures

I've had a couple of half-arsed cracks at night - but didnt get immediate results so gave up

Does anyone like them.

I've ordered a heap but they will take a while to get to Aus

Might give this set up a try while waiting

I had success using a variety of different lures after dark on Snapper. I found those lures that had lines or markings in the glow stuff better than those that were more full on with glow. Times change as rapidly as my memory on the plastics i used but my favorites were a 5 inch glow tail extrude jerk bait and a Samaki Battle Jig in 20 gram with glow on the sides worked over the sand and gravel adjacent to the reef.

Thanks Sevric - I'll look into them.

Heres what a paid marine biologist had to say about flashing lights

I did dabble with glow paints for the heads and standard plastics with some success also. Like any fishing there are so many variables to ultimate success so persist in the dark and i am sure you will crack the pattern.

PS: If fishing bait i used those cheap glow in the dark beads you can purchase from DohDohDoh or similar. I fished the glow bead on top of the hook drilling out the bead so the hook eye was a firm / tight fit in the bead. it protected the knot and attracted the fish well.

Could you do the same with the bead on the eye of a jig head? Can't muck up the action as much as the whole glow stick?

yeah out in the bay we've had no problem cracking the after dark code on pinks - just use gulps

And I know how to get the Bream and Jews on lures at night - its just these river pinks are being annoying. Going to have to change my whole plastics game up. I've got heaps of new things to try. The glowing lures are the first step. Changing my retrieve is the next

I know they feed at night - just not on my plastics

Yeah I was half joking with the glow stick idea on such a small plastic. I have inserted glowsticks into much larger plastics but I didnt stick with it

I might coat the shanks of my jigheads with glow dust aswell so the lure glows from the inside aswell.

These are just temporary measures until my glow in the dark lures arrive
