Apparently it’s never been trialled in the natural environment anywhere in the world and only in lab trials. It’ll need some exceptional management if/when it’s released.
The suggestion to use rotenone in the rivers is would seem even worse not noting its full affects on a environment or ecology.

doing nothing does not seem to be option either

Yeah solutions that make money and dont leave a mess behind would be nice - I've tried pushing them as - Snapper bait - Fertilizer and Hats but my ideas dont seem to be catching on in a big way

I thought this virus had been released in other countries with massive carp kills and hadn't affected any other critter in the water or on land ...

Yeah I'd read the virus only effects carp aswell - I might have to go back and have a look at the fish farmers sources
