Minn Kota ST I Pilot questions

Gday,
Had enough of Watersnake problems and just picked up a used ST with I pilot and have a few questions.
Doesn't have a fuse but a 60 amp is recommended, so was just going to get a weatherproof inline blade fuse to do the job.... what are you guys running.
My set up is just very basic on a 4m tinny on a quick release mount and anderson plugs.

Also the accessory lead coming off it...what can you hook up to that ?

The model is a ST 55pd 54in with no foot control, just remote...can u fit a foot control to this model ?... just in case the remote has issues which have plagued me with the Watersnakes.

Any other tips or tricks with this model ?

Thanks for any replies.

CB

The short accessory lead coming off the base of the motor should have a cap on it that you can unscrew and connect a foot pedal to. I run a 40amp blade fuse and have never had a drama with it blowing. I chose 40amp so it is theoretically the weakest link and will pop before anything in the motor goes if there was a wiring issue.

One feature I use all the time is to hold the autopilot button (the "N" button) down for greater than 2 seconds. You will notice the ring disappears from around the "N" on the display. This is auto pilot without the "Advanced" autopilot, and seems to work a lot better on my boat than the advanced.
