All up including installation was less than $100 so pretty good value.

So what are the lightest K guides?

There was a some loss of sensitivity with the regular K guides. But it doesn't matter on that rod as it was a 666 and used for barra.

I'll try the torzites in the titanium frame for the lighter 604.

Or request them with Edge. I have a few mates that have requested bigger changes than guide type and Alex sorted them out each time. Likewise with their buddies over at kistler. I was surprised how strong the customs market is there

Not sure. But i think you can do it yourself. I spoke with them a while ago and they seemed happy to sell/ship direct to me.

Yeah should have been clearer, Torzite's are lighter than SiCs in the K guide titanium range.

They are only a tiny bit lighter for the equivalent size. However they're inner diameters are much larger meaning you can go a full size down and still pass line the same way. That's where the weight savings come in. On big powerful rods they are somewhat of a luxury but give discernible improvements on lighter finesse works.

On one of our money no object exports a finesse caster was built with a 30g k2 blank.

Using Torzite 4J it was possible to pass through double unis for bite leaders FC to mono. Resulting in the very crisp action desired by the buyer.

Although it would be aesthetically jarring, just changing out the tip and a couple of belly guides along the tip of an ISR to Torzites would greatly improve performance.

On the subject of weight, just how much do they say a SC ISR701-1 Spin weigh?
