Crisp rods under $150

Has anyone tried the Pryml d16 vapor 3-6kg from BC# ... They feel nice and crisp and i'm looking for something in the 2-4 to 3-6kg bracket and only have 150 max to spend ... any other suggestions would be appreciated

Havent used the pryml, but for the price look at the TD hyper rods from Daiwa.

If you want epic rods at cheap prices the link below is the only place to shop. Kuyung rods are all Japanese blanks (Toray blanks) and the components all Fuji. You cannot get a better rod in an Australian for anywhere near this price let alone under $150.00. I have 2 of these and rate them about the same quality and value as the made for Australian market Megabass rods.

You cannot buy a better rod for under $350.00 in Australia

Thanks for the link, thats a pretty impressive range - which ones did you pick?

And what was the packaging like on the rods when they shipped them?

Anything in the Teton range is great, I have a few of their new range rods, they have the same blanks and components as the current series. The SAS-762S and the TTC-602SUL both in the Teton range just new lengths that aren't on the website yet. Rated for 2-5lb line. Arrived packed very well, bonus is a replacement tip foir any of the rods is approximately $25 + shipping.

But according to a guy on Tackle tour - not every rod in the range uses 100% Japanese components - theres a Few reviews on the range in tackle tour from guys who claim to be Japanese Rod Enthusiasts - most seem to be blown away

Not always 100% Jap for the cheaper rods ($50-$70) but for the price they can't possibly do that! The $90+ dollar rods are all fuji. Would be equivalent to a $300+ Shimano or Diawa rod in quality and use.

Yeah I went looking for negative feedback and it was very hard to find.

One guy did suspect that some of the "fugi" guides may have been made in house - but he was still complimentary about the rods - noone else seemed to notice

"The guides on my rods are both Fuji K series copies and I suspect that Kuying makes their own in house K series type guides. The spinning guides are referred to as K series and look like Fuji KLAG guides. The casting guides are known as KT series. The design of the K series guides is supposed to minimize any loops that may form around the guides or tip during casting. I assume the frames are SS as they have shown both strength and have not oxidized and I am not sure of the material used for the rings but I can attest in the year plus that I've had both rods, neither the frames nor the guides have shown any wear or failed in any way. Again, I've used both in the salt and I have used braid on them as well."
