My new Okuma Epix EFS- 20

I tried everywhere to purchase a new Okuma Epix EFS- 20 in all the local and not so local tackle shops and a lot of tackle shops in Sydney as well, but none had any in stock and not really interested in ordering any until a future date (unknown).

I gave Campbells Pro Tackle in W.A a phone call and the service was second to none. Not only did they have them in stock but the price was $128-95 a lot cheaper than the other shops quoted me.

$7-00 for o'night delivery, so I should have it by the weekend.

I'm very impressed that I can shop in Western Australia (Breammaster & Campbells Pro Tackle) easier than I can shop locally !!!!

yeah campbells is a great store

i got my fly rod from there and when i snapped it they got a replacement in for me without the reciept!!!

they are very competitive on prices and when they are more expensive, they will usually better the competitors.

Yep, I have to admit that I feel a bit sorry for my local tackle shops. One quoted me $165 & the other $171.

I told them how much I could get it for in W.A $128-95 + $7 for o'night express post total $135-95 .........$29-05 & $36-00 cheaper respectably. And delivered to my door and they wouldn't come down

With the Internet playing an ever increasing role in our day to day lives and the ease of ordering over the internet I would be very worried if I was one of these smaller tackle shops.

I'm not having a go at them either but I sure can't afford to shop locally (which I always try to do first) and kiss $30-36 bucks down the drain.

Just a tail piece......a mate of mine got his last year for $95-00.

I think it was an introductory offer or something, wish I could get 4 at that price now!

I reckon Okuma when it gets a toe hold in the market place will steadily raise its prices.

just like everything else imported in, once they have a market the prices go up.
But as you said, with the internet, you are not confined to looking at local tackle shops etc but can look all over Australia or the world for that matter
Makes life a lot easier.

And ordering from Breammaster is a pleasure in itself. The contact and speed of delivery is first class. Good service and competitive prices = repeat business!!!!
Well done lads

You'll be very happy

Just a tip, when it arrives, have a look at top of the drag knob and where it meets the rest of the knob, there can be a bit of room there, or an overlap in the plastic that has the possibility of catching Fireline (it is bloody thin after all) - mine was doing it and a quick spot of Super Glue fixed it nicely.

I've circled the areas in the pic below - sorry about the quality, I had to blow it up a bit so you could see it

Yep that area has caught my fireline several times already. Can be abit of a nuisance but as long as you spot the line being stuck in there before you cast or do anything its fine.

Glad someone else but me had the same problem, hah! Thought for a second I had a reject reel or something

I have had mine just over a week and I love it.

Just do what Dave said with the superglue as fireline WILL get caught in those cracks.

I wish that Okuma made a Epix 1000 model, how sweet would that be.

Glad Campbells helped you out LCF.

Can't say I by my Bream lures there any more, but I buy most of my other gear there. Good bunch of guys and great service.
