The MEGABASS Thread!

Here it is guys/gals. Noticed lately there a lot of guys out there wanting to get into Megabass gear or other freaks like me who just love talking about Megabass. Thought I'd try get all the info in one thread for everyone to find easily.

Feel free to ask any questions, post reviews or chat anything Megabass. Pic are encouraged!

I'm currently running:

Deep Throat F0 - 6'8''
Saratoga F1 - 6'7''
Phase 2 Lycaon F0 - 6'8''
Racing Condition F2 - 6'10''
Racing Condition F3 - 5'11''
Shoreluck UL F0 - 7'4''

Also Have a Phase 3 Lycaon F1 - 6'4'' on it's way! Running a couple of 256 Caiyens to. Feel free to ask any questions about these rods and reels and I'll do my best to answer them. I'm sure if I can't there will be plenty that will!

Looking forward to new rods that should be out soon to. Axis 7.....

how do you rate the shoreluck 7'4"? I have seen mixed information about their tapers (medium and fast) Id be guessing they would be more a medium, but care to shed any light? Was looking at getting one but I hate slow rods or medium rods

Pretty much the ultimate flats rod for light fluorocarbon IMO. I'd say medium taper, not slow action though. It has a ultra light tip but has some balls down around the middle of the blank and lower. More than I thought it would.

About time!!

I'm only new to the Megabass clan but I am slowly adding more to the collection

Currently have a:

Deep Throat F0 - 6'8''
Lycaon SDti - 6'4"

And another Lycaon on the way

Have been good lately and not bought any more rods as the Axis 7 rods are gonna be sick!!

Can't wait to see what others have

What do you rate the reels Chief, are they worth the coin or would you be better off buying ana Exist or Stella ?

What does the F denote?
What rods in the range are good for light and unweighted plastics?

I rate them pretty highly. Depends on what you are after. Very similar to the old Exist. Pretty much the same or slightly better and can be found for a similar price. So they are worth it in that respect. Probably go the Stella if you need a reel for some bigger stuff, not just Breaming. If you wanna spend a bit more you could get a new Exist from Japan.

It's a force rating isn't it?

Anyway the F0 is the best for that type of fishing. The F1 is good to, most are only slightly stiffer than a F0 but it can depend on taper and different models.

Hi chief...What would you recommend in a 6 to 12lb outfit 7ft spin 1pc
Im after a new jew stick and want something in a med to fast taper.
It needs to be good enough to set a 6/0 jighead with 15lb braid.
Has mega bass got anything in that range you may recommend.

Thanks
j

This maybe? http://samuraitackle.com/fishing/ind...ducts_id=16283

or http://www.japanprofishing.com/rod/m...r-phase-3.html

Jade Python might suit to. I'm no expert on the heavier stuff. Someone else may have a better option.

Maybe check out the new stuff coming soon for a F4, F-5 or F-6 spin rod.
