I kill all mine straight away and straight into the icewell - they taste better

Same here with any fish for the table.
Kill straight away then on ice or a slurry of water and ice.

I agree haha, aslong as they come out of nice clean water I have no problem keeping a few for a feed

At one stage I did actually leave them much longer than I should and was concerned for their health (I thought they were dead). At the end of a long day on the water I took the fish home, threw them into a 1000 litre fish tank.

They lived there for 3 years until I decided it was time to let them go back into the river. They are a very tough fish!
Frosty!

Ok, I'll bite.

What is an eating species then?

What makes that species any different to Bream as a table fish?

I don't eat much fish but Bream cooked well is great (IMO). They are slow growing, however they are also one of the most abundant fish we have.

As for keeping them in the live well, so long as it is a properly working live well no dramas in my book.

People who are feverishly against the eating of any bream are possibly putting the species on too high a pedestal and run the risk of looking like a bit of a weirdo.

Exactly mate.

I love to fish for Bream and practice catch and release of at least 80% of Bream caught.

I use a portable livewell to take a couple of nice photos at the end of the day and select a couple for my wife and I to eat.

I do beleive that the size limit for Bream should be increase to around the 27 to the 30cm mark so those that want to take a feed home can get some decent fillets and can be satisfied with fewer fish.
