Good to get the monkey off my back. Hopefully that's the longest streak I hit this winter

Just got back from the docks.

Had an awesome night. Caught up with Axle (Piscateur) at 6. He gave me a few tips and we rocked up to the first pylon and before he'd even said two words he was onto a bream. My first shortly followed.

Before long Alex had 6.5 to his name and 4.5 to mine. Half a bream? How does that work ? Well one fish we both managed to hook up to. I thought it was trying to pylon wrap me. Alex was first to figure out we were trying to fight each other

Alex had to leave but my mate Nans made an appearance and it wasn't long until he was three up to my five. By this point I'd dropped 4 or 5 in a row so I swapped my blade with stingers out for one with trebles.

The night continued with is both picking up bream and dropping at least twice as many.

Then I caught this bream

And I feel terrible about this. You know how if you hold them upside down they kind of go a bit comatose? Well I fumbled its release and it ended up going into the water upside down. It was there belly up for a couple of seconds and just as Nan's said "it doesn't look too good" and I went to reach out and flip it over, a dirty water rat the size of a small terrier shot out from under the pontoon, sank its teeth into the unfortunate bream and disappeared with it back into the darkness.

The circle of life I guess but I do feel a tad guilty :/ On a positive note at least I still have all my fingers!

Other than that a great night and I managed to pick up another on the "one last cast".

End result was 8 for myself (which blows all my previous results out of the water), Nans got a nice four - including his first on a blade. If axle could have stayed I have no doubt he'd have been into double figures.

All in all a really enjoyable night and great to catchup and have a chinwag as well - although I think gas bagging contributed to a fair number of dropped fish

If only the docks did this every time!

Its a *cough* ebay special *cough*.

If you google "ebay abalone shell blade" you'll find it. Was a bit of an experiment

Nice one. Ive seen those water rats swimming along with live flapping pidgeons in their mouths then drag them into drain pipes. Its like something out of a horror movie watching the flapping tips of the wings dissapere into the darkness to be eaten alive. Nasty little mofos.

Yeah - give me the Heebie jeebies. They've snuck up on me a few times at the docks. - it's enough to make you cack your daks.
