Yeah First time I heard a cod boof, I thought some A-hole was hitting golf balls at us from the other side of the Murray.

I actually went for a walk trying to catch a glimpse of who ever was doing it - It wasnt till later that night when we went fishing again, that I realised the Noise was small Cod Boofing.

If one of those Cat-Fish had boofed beside me, I'd have gone looking for the bloke who was chucking bowling balls

I hooked a 97cm Cod one night on surface from the yak. It was on probably my 200th cast into this pool, half asleep by now, when he hit right next to the yak. It sounded like a fridge had been thrown next to me, scared the bejeezes out of me!

Yeah I've occasionally got a fright watching a bream speed after my lure as I bring it in for the next cast -

The only big stuff I see chase my lures are Jewies but they dont often explode on the surface. I've seen them get fully airbourne, (head and tail out of the water) just not while chasing my lure
