the shallow version is better for shallow applications, the deep version is better for deep applications.

Neither is better than the other, both have their place If the fish are holding deep then the shallow is better, if the fish are holding shallow then the deep is better

Cranka Crank Shallows run 0.8-1.2 meters
Cranka Crank Deeps run 1.6-2.0 meteres

Use the one that gets to where the fish are.

Start with the Shallow cast into the bank then work it back with different techniques (slow roll, twich-pause). Nothing then switch to the Cranka Crank Deeps and cast a bit further out from the bank then repeat until you find the fish.

A good sounder will help you here to know there are fish there and see if there is a drop off or ledge they are sitting on.

P.S. The Crankas suspend really well so don't be aftraid to leave them there for a good while on the pause.

Flurocarbon sinks better than braid so I imagine that is where tha comment comes from. I am usually running 2+ meters of 3-4lb fluro and get a good depth out of my Crankas. Not sure the deeps hit 2m but deep enought for what I need.

Thinner leader diameter = less resistance in the water = deeper running depth....well thats how I think it works.
