Rod costs was about 16000 yen($200) + 3000($40) shipping. Rod arrived in a sturdy PVC tube within 6-10 days from order. Egi rods start as low as 11000 yen($140), my egi rod is high content graphite full fuji seat & Sic guides, it's finish is right up their with other jap rod makers for alot less $$$$. |

I recently used Bass.jp to order two rods, one being an egi rod. Their service is really good and they are slightly cheaper than Plat (Plat seem to charge the Japanese rrp). You simply email them the brand and model of the rod your chasing and they email you back regarding availabilty and cost. Apparently they can source most Japanese rods. Shipping for me was via EMS; I got my rods within one week of ordering them. They seem to understand good english too.
