I'm always looking for ways to make things more interesting in the tank - I think I might have come up with something to even up the odds for the feeder fish in a predator tank.

The fast learners may be able to get themselves into a bottle - and if they can - it would be very interesting to watch a predator try to work out how to get them. Or you could just release them into the bottle then put it in the tank

Obviously hiding spots could be built with a rock pile - but see through hiding spots would be much more interesting.

Maybe a cluster of bottles so the bait can get in amoungst them

I can see some probs with predators knocking over bottles and head butting stuff to hard - but if the predators were small enough - they may not be able to damage themselves or the tank.

you might be able to put a few holes in the bottle with your dremel for multiple entrances?

Yeah that sounds both desirable and doable

I was originally thinking glass because its heavy and very clear - but further ponderings have me wishing for a crystal clear plastic bottle - it would be easy to poke holes in - can be loaded down with rocks - wont crack the tank if it falls over and it would be kinder to the foreheads of predators.

In a strange turn of events - the predator I chose decided to pull a "Tuna" on me.

I was doing a water change and he freaked out with multiple high speed head butts to the tank and killed himself.

If your gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough - my fish forgot the last bit of that saying.

(Disturbing images of a Gentleman hurting himself are contained in this video - viewer discretion is advised)
