Cool Central Coast and Hunter adventures

Went exploring with my little brother and a mate today. I discovered this creek on Google earth in bushland only 15 minutes from my house, had I known of it's existence earlier I would have been fishing it already. There are some deep holes and narrow flowing sections (My mate Trav actually spooked a bass stepping over it in a section of creek that was no more than 25 cm wide and about 30cm deep) with plenty of overhanging scrub and logs for green scaly things to hide under which excites me a lot. We didn't take any rods this time, as it was only a scouting mission, but needless to say there will be rods next time

We're going to head back there today and have a flick and I'm wondering if any of you who chase creek bass find a lot of fish in the dirtier water, or do they tend to prefer the cleaner creeks?

I cant comment for NSW but bass do get caught in the smaller murky creeks.

That water looks amazing, a little yak would be right at home in there!

I'll give it a crack and see what I can find. You wouldn't get a yak very far in there G, theres not a lot of room between holes

No luck today. Still a bit early I reckon, the water was pretty damn cold. Getting wet up to the nads retrieveing a cicada was pretty much the highlight of the day

Upstream of the railway bridge but downstream of the weir?
Used to haunt those parts about 10 years ago.
Some angry bass through that stretch, but I've never landed a big one there.

It's been way too long between posts, I was intending on posting up as much bass fishing content on this thread as possible but life has sort of gotten in the way a bit over the last coupe of years and I honestly haven't managed to do much fishing of any kind at all. That said, I have finally managed to get out and snag my first creek bass of the season! It fell to an atomic crank slow rolled past a jutting out section of bank. The only other fish I managed to hook up to spat the hook within seconds but was big enough to fully load up my 2-5kg overdrive and pull drag on a locked up Aegis using 4kg gliss and 10lb leader. Next time.......
