Mike,
Why dont you like the breammaster ones ? If you slide them right up close they sit ok. To me anyway

If you want you can push one or two of the spikes down.

i like the squidghie jigheads in the 2 smallest sizes i do use other jigheads but i find that you use them once then your plastics is wrecked and the squidgia ones dont tear your plastics if u decide to change.

I agree softies sit the best on Squidgy hooks, but they have poor side which seems to be strength, Ive found they are the easy to straighten.
Id go with the Gama 25`s size 1 n 2. cheers richo |

I use a wide variety of Jigs from home made to store bought, usually all on black nickel hooks (i.e. black Aberdeen style)
One of those styles used is the squidgee range, and I can honestly say I have never had one bend on a fish... Yes, flatlining it out of a snag I have bent them but never on a fish.. what kind of superbream do you have over there??? Surely they are not much different??? I usually use Squidgee heads when shorebased due to the fact that they are cheaper which is better when you have a high rate of loss. I agree they can make a mess of a plastic when it comes to a pull down or a plastic change, but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than loosing a load of expensive gammas. Funnily enough, I’ve seen more gammas bent than any other jig! But none the less they are quality jigs, save the gammas for less snaggy water and use the squidgee heads for more nasty territory. If you want perfect lay and griped plackies then there is only one real choice and thats Lunker City heads! Last edited by Bassifier; 17-03-2003 at 08:25 AM. |

BASS MASTER jig's
G'day mike,
if you don't want to pay for 'Gamakatsu's then a good alterantive is the 'BASSMASTER' range, there made with a mustard aberden hook and come in your 1/16 , 1/32..... sizes there alot like the 'Breammaster' ones except they don't have two points either side of the hook, they only have one...!!! which faces up, they don't seem to damage the plastic to much and are cheap......come in bags of 10 i think ? for less than $5 bucks i think.? don't quote me, but u get twice as many for the same price or less......!!!!! worth a go |

Just a quick plug for Nitro's. Warren now has the Nitro Bream Bullets in the shop and they will be in the online store as soon as he upgrades it.
They are a neat looking jighead that profiles the plastics nicely, they come in a range of natural colours with an eye, or in plain. They are built on Gamas and come in 1/24th, 1/16th and 1/8th. Matt
