Weird, last post before I posted this morning was your question on what was a reasonable price for BNC. Then it looks like I've just repeated the advice from Broomstick about them being tropical. Ill just stick to looking at Pics .

If I had a bigger tank - I'd be right into this - expanding foam with sand chucked on it - too easy
The vid gathers speed at 7:30. |

Found a bigger tank If its still full tommorrow - I'll give it a proper clean. But theres a problem - the tank was thrown out on someones natures strip and it had a box of rat poison in it. Some of the pellets were touching the glass for who knows how long. Anyone got any ideas on how to clean any residue away |

The other problem is its too long for the top of the fridge.

Its 10cm too long.
So I figured I could just stick a bit of wood as long as the tank under it and that would support the weight Do you reckon that will work? |

It should be fine mate. That over hang isn't large enough to be dangerous. While you're at it though, chuck a layer of Styrofoam between glass and wood. A cm thick is plenty. Allows the tank to self level to an extent.
If the tank leaks, just cut off the old silicone on the inside level with the glass and run a new bead over the top. Use aquarium safe stuff though. Bunnings will have it also i reckon this channel would be right up your alley https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCM9...GJuUUhgZaiGZkQ Last edited by Basti; 16-08-2016 at 04:29 PM. |

I don't keep fish any more (when you're cleaning tanks all day at uni the last thing you wanna do is clean them when you get home) but I used to work at an aquarium and at one stage had around 50 tanks going in my folks' garage (until we got an electricity bill for over 3k..ha). My favourite were probably these freshwater motoro stingrays:
Super cute, I wish I had some better snaps of them. |

Always wanted to get a ray. I've had a couple of discus tanks but moved away from them to geos. They're all sold now. Managed to get a few spawns out of them too. The tank is still setup in the living room but only contains a few discus atm as my dad has an obsession with breeding them which I never bothered with.
This is a vid of one of my good ram pairs from way back. Really cool to watch the parents interact with the brood. They even gather them up and put them to bed at night. https://youtu.be/8qf9nKtjVyo |
