Really if shimano brought a 2000 reel to Aus, I would be all over it, if it incoperated some of the classic shimano features, well presented looks, quality customer service, toughness the two last features are not so well represented in the Dawia range.

All to there own though.
I bought my dad a fuego A 1000 with a shimano Cumara 7'2"MLF from TW.

While he's up here I matched the fuego to a drunken monkey 6'10"ULFs.

Maybe I'm too used to the fast reels and fast crisp tips as the fuegos short handle and slow retrieve annoyed me, the Drunken Monkey 6'10"ULFs didn't impress either as it seemed to lack the crispness my other finesse rods have.

Still it's a well built and comfortable setup, just ain't my style.

Presso spin rods.

These look like a good bream rod. Might try one of these。

And to answer the original question: "They just are"

up until last year I had been using shimano gear for 20+years, had a bad run with shimano ci4's DohDohDohDohting themselves so switched to daiwa and won't be going back

Hahaha all these memes are a crack up..

Honestly I think I would buy Shimano over Daiwa if they brought 2000 reels into Aus, but until that happens no one can really say anything!

I got the next best thing, straight from the source with warrantee, not that you'd need it. Not one of my JDM reels have failed ever.
