The prototypes I saw were quite different from their older stickbaits.

That's all I can say!

Cheers,

SM

That can only be good then, Steve, as these old guys worked a treat even though I had to fly for 3 hours to get them.

G’day Guys,

The NEW stick bait model should be available in late 2011. We are still testing this model to make sure its ready for the Australian bream. The designer from Japan will be in Australia in the coming months to test this new model and to test an array of NEW models for the Australian bream angler. This NEW sinking stick bait model looks nothing like the original Ecogear stick baits that were designed for trout. I will let you all know the details as emerge.

If the ad in the current TAG is anything to go by it looks like a sinking stick bait in a shrimp pattern (sinking version of PX45 or 55 maybe??).

G'day All,

The NEW Ecogear sinking stick bait is still being tested and the final shape has not been chosen as yet - like all Ecogear lures this one will be like nothing you guys have ever seen before. Very easy to use and it catches heaps of fish.

We (Ecogear) have been testing several NEW hardbodies and Ecogearaqua Australian designed "soft bait lure hybrid" models with great success. Ecogear has spent the last 4 years developing the sent and texture that Aussie bream love to eat. We now have the "Bream Prawn" finished and ready to be released in August at the AFTA Trade Show on the Gold Coast.

We will show you all the colour range, shape and sizing in the coming weeks.

Can you give us a little hint of what kind of action it will have on the drop??????
eg, will it flutter, will it wobble, will it sink horizontally with out no action?????

We (JML) have been testing probably 6 different shape models over the past few years and as yet the final shape and action has not been chosen. Ecogear Japan has the unique ability to supply our Ecogear Australian R&D Team with lots of different models to test and refine before the final prototype is chosen (like the model Shaun Clancy used to success in the ABT GF) - and to be honest the sinking stick bait model may be a full year away from the decision being made on the final product. Its good fun being involved in the R&D and can't wait for the next NEW lure model to arrive in OZ.

The NEW CX 35 model will be the one to watch our for! Release for the 35 will be in early 2012.
