Wonder cutter

Guys,
If you’re looking for a decent set of cutters that’ll get though absolutely any braid, leader etc, I have found the answer.

After many many frustrating years using sub-optimal cutters, I bit the bullet.

You won’t find a better line cutter/nipper than the Abel.

If you have the opportunity to pick up a set, close your eyes and hand over the $, I guarantee you’ll be impressed. Here’s a pic of mine with a DIY lanyard I knocked up. Abel lanyard en route

Cheers

Nagz

Engineering looks fantastic, price is stratospheric
Home made lanyard is pretty neat.

The price was definitely a hard pill to swallow, hence black and not hand painted

Haven’t run into anything I can’t cut yet

As soon as I got hold of it, I went straight to the shed to cut up all different outfits, nil issues as yet

It looks pretty good. Just wondered what the thinnest braid you managed to clip cleanly was?

Unitika Aorika in 6lb

PE 0.5 I think it is from memory

This wasn’t the best cut compared to other lines, but it proved easier to do than with other cutters

Couldn’t cut flaccid (for lack of a better word) line, had to have some tension on it for a decent cut and it was slightly frayed

Interesting to see how long it last as its point on point contact, not a materials engineer but having to push the two edges against each other over time would affect the cutting edge I would have thought.
Also Owner scissors cut limp braid clean even thin ones, mine now need some grip pressure as in holding scissors with the kinda grip that pushes the shear motion tighter, but still cuts limp braid (2 years old) Didn not need to do this when new.
The surecatch ones were great but not quite as sharp but they were 5 bucks still cut clean limp braid but would last around 6 months.

How much are the abel replacement blades?

Out of interest only, out of my price range for line cutters given I'm lazy with them and tend to lose them.
