This thread has been going for awhile now. My interest is: Have you decided on a reel yet? I need to know. As an aside there has been some sound advice posted. Thank you. Regards. HBt.

You asked for advice about what reel to get, six different members here have all suggested the same reel as being ideal for your budget. If you don't want to heed that advice then go to a tackle shop and feel the reels for yourself and make the decision. Ultimately it's your choice, if you ask the question then you may not get the answer you are looking for but I would suggest that most of the people here have had enough product exposure to know what works and what doesn't.

Had to do it

I would suggest either shimano or Daiwa, the one linked in the classifieds is the best you will get for the money.

Cheers

Haha just testing to see who would bight. The whole Shimano vs Daiwa thing is crazy, people on here get so darn nasty about it haha. I don't care either way. If its quality use it.

No offence taken here. Im moreso saying buy the best quality for the money you can spend not buy a steez or exist. There is no need for the top end reels but in the lower end you will feel the benifits a lot more.

Cheers
Chris

Nice score there, his loss and your gain, it's funny how some people seek advise then can't accept any...

Everyone is giving you the advice you seek you just don't want to hear it because you don't want to own 2 reels similar to each other.

I cannot understand why he didn't buy the Fuego. If it was still available I would've bought it too.

I have a Ballistic (a high speed Freams) and there's no comparison to my Fuego 3000A and Luvias DA 2500R they're simply in a different class. And I can confirm that they're the same reel. IMO even the aussie Luvias DA (which I think looks sexier than the Fuego A) is a bargain now at $299 R & A's
