Top response appreciate your thought - hopefully this works well on the t-curve as a deadly balanced combo - even with daiwa and shimano

No worries. The tackle gods may have a bolt or two for you though........LOL!

Will balance just fine on the T-Curve: like I said, the shorter handle on that rod seems to need the slight extra weight to balance it.

On a side note, disassembly of the new Certate gearbox doesn't look like it will be at all friendly to getting it customised. The gearbox will have to go to daiwa to be disassembled for service and oiling with the magnetic oil stuff. Urrrgh!!

I am looking at the 2000 certate as well... i can't decide whether between a T-curve or jewel(7'6" model), mainly bacause jewel offers few more inches as i am landbased. My questions are there a big difference in term of casting distance between t-curve and jewel? and is the certate 2000 goin to balance on the jewel?

Yep I pulled the side off of mine and went oh dear, then continued to pull it apart it is at the painters now but i think i will just send all the pieces upto daiwa in a box seeing as how they need to refill it with that magnetic grease anyway. (and besides i think i may have broken something).

I am having it painted a dark purple candy

NICE!!!! Another crazy one takes the plunge. I am still paying my lay-by off, and intend to fish it for a while before I put my crazy plan into action.

I gotta say Hash, it was a ballsy move, especially as you may have broken something. Could bite you right in the wallet..... Good luck mate. Make sure you post up the pics when she's done. Who's doing the painting for ya?
