How's this for a deal Daiwa Caldia Kix 2000.

How's it going fellas.
I've just bought a berkley protactic 2 to 4kg and was looking for a reel to match the rod.
I've always been more of a shimano man so I looked at the 2500 twinpower but it's a bit heavy compared to the caldia so I've turned my eye to daiwa.
What do you think of the this deal and the reel it self.

http://www.campbellsprotackle.com/st...ct.asp?ID=3660

I mainly fish for pinkies which some have been over 50cm.
Would this reel handle a good strong fighting fish on a regular basis.
BTW I fish about twice a week.
Thanks.

I've heard a heap of different story's about the SOL having trouble with it's bail arm,I've also heard that the caldia KIX is the same reel as the SOL just different color.
If this is so does the kix have the same problem as the sol with it's bail arm.
I hope someone can set me straight.

Thanks.

I say go for it too..I have landed 70cm fish on my Sol 2000 so you'd be right with the Kix Sol bail problem yep i have had that problem it's from over tightening the screw when it comes loose it's a fault if you put a drop of loctite on the screw and hold where the roller bearing is and tighten the bail will be fine..All the best Go Daiwa better reel imo

There's a tackle store in Adelaide advertising Kix 1500,2000,2500
for $199 for anyone that's thinking of buying one.

Ray & Annes Tackle and Marine -
08 8240 0410
200 Grand Junction Road
Pennington

Damn good deal I reckon.

I wish I never read the last post as I just bought the 2000 kix for $229.
Ah well they have them here in vic for $399 so I reckon I'm way in front anyway.
There's always the chance of a second reel.

The good thing about anaconda is that they match any price plus beat it by 10% so you can get a good deal.
The problem is it has to be a shop front and not online store.
All other stores here have them for around the $330 mark plus or minus a couple of bux.
